What happens when you continue?

Nook is a large project, so UNKNOWN is designed to deliver it through independent servers rather than rely on one server for every connection. This helps distribute demand and can connect you through a server closer to you for a smoother experience.

When you choose Enter Nook, your browser asks to share your location. If you allow it, your device sends location coordinates to the main server. The intended flow uses them to estimate which available server is closest and can host Nook, then makes the project files available from that server. Your browser still runs Nook, but this approach is intended to reduce connection distance and spread the hosting workload.

Location is needed to choose where to connect. The intended flow wipes your location data once a suitable server is identified and the connection is complete.

If your browser offers Allow this time, that is a good choice; otherwise, choose the temporary or while-using option if available. Permission choices differ between browsers.

If you deny the request or your device cannot determine its location, you will not be connected. You can update your browser or device location settings and try again.

  2. On that page, also turn on Let desktop apps access your location.
  3. In Chrome or Edge, open the site controls beside the address bar → Site settings → Location → Allow. Reload the page and try again.
